Autumn Term 2 2018
Following the half term break all of the children in Devon Class have come back happy and ready to learn! Across each day we are encouraging this children to ask questions and explore their own fascination's, both independently and when supported by their peers and teachers.
During the first two weeks of term we have enjoyed learning all about Remembrance Day and Diwali. We have worked hard to create our own Remembrance day stones and Diva Candles using a range of media. The whole school enjoyed joining their peers and families at the Remembrance day service in Church where all classes were impeccably behaved - being the youngest, Devon Class made myself and the other foundation staff incredibly proud.
We are now learning about one of our favourite class books 'Aliens Love Underpants' we plan on designing our own shape aliens, thinking about questions such as 'How many....?' 'what shape...?' and then making them in our creation station. A special delivery arrived today in a huge box addressed to Devon Class.... see if your child can tell you all about what was inside!
We continue to focus on the children applying all of the skills they will need in order to be successful and engaged learners...embedding all of the skills the children will need so that all of the children develop to...
'be the best they can be'!
We are excited to keep working with you and helping you discover what support you can provide your child at home with supporting your child's learning - especially their phonics and reading, please enjoy sharing books and stories at home with your child and encourage them to play a range of games with you spotting numbers and letters both at home and when you are out and about.
Please look at our class blog (see below) with your child in order to see what we have been doing in class and have a conversation about what they have learnt and enjoyed!
