Topic overview Autumn 2 - The Lady of Shalott

The Lady of Shalott

Picture 1

This term, we will be reading stories from the times of legendary King Arthur. In particular, we will look at the poem written by Alfred Lord Tennyson - 'The Lady of Shalott'. Arguably his most beloved poem, it tells a tragic tale that has inspired painters and musicians over many years. We will be looking at the language used, the images created and will even try to solve the mystery of her demise.

In maths, we will look at solving a range of problems involving fractions and algebra.

On top of our topic work, we will be preparing for our D.A.R.E graduation on 2nd December and will be busy making decorations for the tree we have reserved at the Parish Church in Newark during their Christmas tree Festival (3rd - 11th December). More details to follow.
