Forest Schools

In Devon Class we are very lucky that our teacher Mrs Pykett is a qualified Level 3 Forest Schools practitioner. We undertake Forest Schools every Friday, either within our Forest Schools area on school site or on Mrs Pykett's small privately owned local woodland.

Mrs Pykett and Mrs Simpson are passionate about Forest Schools and this is the Forest School Ethos for our school...

Forest School Ethos

Forest Schools offers children the opportunities to explore and investigate the natural world using child-led, first-hand experiences.

It nurtures, respects and gives children the chance to become well rounded individuals who play, learn, instigate and test and have a healthy curiosity of the world around them.

Forest Schools allows children to become independent, confident individuals with good social and emotional skills, who are given opportunities to form secure relationships with others, are encouraged to take risks and who show a respect for the world and people around them.

The Forest School sessions we undertake at Farndon St Peters are always undertaken by qualified Forest School practitioners in a local woodland area or within the nature area on our school ground.
