Nurturing a life-long love of learning

Holy Trinity 21st February 2022

The first game of the new year for the Farndon St Peters football team saw the group play on the back of storm Eunice, a game which the team had to overcome cold and windy conditions, to their credit they didn't allow the elements to affect their play, no goal nets, no painted lines didn't stop our boys and girls from playing some good football with freedom to express themselves, creating a variety of chances before Dylan opened the scoring giving Farndon the lead just before the half time break. Holy Trinity grabbed a goal to level the score early in the second half, a goal that had the potential to change the tide and momentum of the game, Farndon kept pushing and kept the pressure on in search of a winning goal, chance after chance came, it seemed only a matter of time before the goal would come that the team deserved and with two minutes to go Oscar who was in a good position, picked the unselfish option to play a pass to the Captain Toby who was in a better position to score to knock the ball home to give Farndon a well deserved lead. More chances came in the last minutes which were not able to be turned into goals. A well earned win for the Farndon team. Well done!
