Magpies

Good Morning Everyone!

We hope you are all well and keeping yourselves warm!

Please see below a selection of activities for you at home over the day; do not feel pressured to print anything. I have made sure that everything is accessible with paper and pen. Please bring any work you do at home into school the next day for us to share!

Have a wonderful day and see you on Tuesday.

Writing

Today, we are looking at capital letters and full stops. I have put together a PowerPoint that you can share as a family and a quick activity involving you copying the sentences but with the correct punctuation. Please note that you do not have to print anything; this can be copied onto any paper you have!

Phonics

Have a go at writing some of our red words. Think carefully about the ones that are in your book this week. You could try reading and writing these words!

Maths

Last week, we started thinking about shapes. We discovered that some shapes are 3D and some are 2D. Be shape detectives and hunt for some shapes around your home. Draw and label some shapes you find. I have attached a shape quiz you might want to try and some detective wands for your hunt (these are entirely optional and not needed).

Year 2

Spelling

Please use the game below to practice your Year 2 tricky words. Roll the dice and then read the word and see if you can write it down correctly, for a bonus challenge you might try it with your adult reading the word and then you write it down.

If you do not have a dice please use the link below:

Writing

Today in Writing you will be looking at adding the correct punctuation to a sentence. First have a little look at the powerpoint, then have a go at writing your own sentences using a . ! and ? based on the pictures on the sheet.

Maths

Today we are going to retrieve our knowledge on addition and subtraction. Be extra careful to spot which operation you are using in each question. Have a look at the maths video first and then have a go at solving the questions. You might even remember a different way of solving these problems that you can show your adult at home.

RE - Can you believe we have reached December already? Today, we are looking a little more at the Nativity story. I have attached the story in PowerPoint format, have a go at drawing out the story; what happens first, then, and next?
