At St Peter's Cross Keys Academy, we follow the White Rose Scheme for maths.
Each unit is carefully planned and delivered to the children throughout the year. As we approach each unit, we will share with you an overview of the 'journey' children will be taking. This allows you to see the objectives and small steps that are taught, the vocabulary and language which we will be using in class and some examples of what this might look like in reasoning and fluency tasks.
We will also add some knowledge and vocabulary mats to help with any home learning or practise you might do out of school.
As well as our day to day learning - please remember to practise multiplication and division facts daily/weekly. These are vital for extending learning and are the foundation of most of the maths units covered. Apps and website games are a fantastic resource for practising these in a fun way. Look out for your child's TT rockstars log in. By the end of Year 3, it is anticipated that children will be fluent in their 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables.
