St Peter’s Cross Keys Academy Commitment and Policy

This policy applies to all staff, governors and volunteers working in the academy and takes into account statutory guidance provided by the Department for Education and local guidance issued by the Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Partnership.

We will ensure that all parents/carers are made aware of their responsibilities with regard to child protection procedures and how we will safeguard and promote the welfare of their children through the publication of this academy safeguarding and child protection policy.

The policy is read in conjunction with:

“Working Together to Safeguard Children” (2024) which is statutory guidance to be read and followed by all those providing services for children and families, including those in education.

Keeping Children Safe in Education” (September 2024), which is the statutory guidance for Schools and Colleges.

“Information Sharing: Advice for Practitioners providing Safeguarding Services to Children, Young People, Parents and Carers”. July 2024.

The Prevent Duty Departmental, advice for Schools and child care providers” December 2023.

School Behaviour Policy, Child on Child Abuse Policy, Recruitment Policy, Online Safety Policy and Whistle Blowing Policy (Confidential reporting)

Children at Risk of Missing Education Guidance issued by the DfE

The Teachers' Standards - DFE 2021

If any of these documents are updated, our procedures will follow the latest guidance.
