Today we joined in with the FA initiative to get girls playing in the BIGGEST ever football session.
All the girls across the school were invited to join in and had lots of fun learning new skills with their friends. Our Year 5 and 6 girls joined sessions with some younger girls and helped them make the most out of the sessions.
Thank you to Coach Rhodes-Yeomans for organising.
Dear Parents and Carers
Following advice from the Government released late yesterday concerning critical workers and their children, please see the document issued by our Multi-Academy Trust. https://www.stpetersfarndon.com/coronavirus-critical-worker-form/ The form can be found at Parents / Useful Forms & Information/ Coronavirus.
After reading the guidelines in the document, please return to us as soon as possible should you feel you need to access the support; this information will then enable us to assess what provision we are able to offer.
We understand that this is an unprecedented situation and that school is closing to most pupils today, but as mentioned above, this information was only received late yesterday and we are working hard to support all families, whether your child will be attending school or not, during the closure period.
Kind regards
St. Peter's Cross Keys Academy
Dear Parents/Carers
Coronavirus update
Further to my letter of the 11 March 2020, I am writing to update you on the current position in school.
This morning I have been informed that the member of staff affected will not now be tested for Coronavirus due to a change in Government guidance, which states that only those in hospital will be tested.
The member of staff will continue to self-isolate and follow the relevant government guidelines.
Following Public Health England guidelines and contact with the Department for Education, your child should continue to attend school as normal.
If there is any change in this advice, I will of course let you know.
In the meantime, we continue to maintain high levels of hygiene in the building with an enhanced cleaning routine and we have a stringent hand washing routine within school for children and staff.
Yours sincerely,
Elizabeth Duffell

Dear Parents and Carers 11th March 2020
Today, a member of teaching staff has self-isolated as a precaution after contact with a person who has since been confirmed positive for Coronavirus.
Whilst our Foundation Stage Teacher has not yet been tested, we feel that this precaution is sensible whilst they take further advice. They are currently awaiting testing.
Following Public Health England guidelines, and contact with the Department for Education, there is no need at this stage for the school to take further action, and your child should continue to attend school. Their advice is to monitor the situation in school and seek further advice if we have concerns. The safety of your child is always at the forefront of our priorities in school.
I have been asked by the Department of Education to reassure parents that they are happy with the steps we are taking to minimise the chances of the virus spreading in school but also that if any parent has any concerns, to encourage them to contact the DfE direct on: 0800 046 8687.
I can confirm that areas of the school have undergone a deep clean and we have already implemented more thorough cleaning practices across the school since returning from the half term break. All the children and staff are washing hands regularly.
I will of course update you on this and all matters concerning Coronavirus regularly as the picture develops. I am hopeful that this is an over cautious move on our part; we want to be extra vigilant and hope that you will support us in our efforts to follow guidelines.

Advice updated as of 26th February 2020
What is the risk of catching coronavirus in the UK?
The UK Chief Medical Officers have raised the risk to the public from low to moderate. But the risk to individuals remains low.
Symptoms of coronavirus
The symptoms of coronavirus are:
But these symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the illness.
The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu and most people can continue to go to work, school and other public places.
NOTE:
You only need to stay away from public places if you have been advised by NHS 111 to do so, or you have developed symptoms and have been:
Lockdown areas in northern Italy
Special care zones in South Korea
If this applies to you, do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Call 111, stay indoors and avoid close contact with other people.
|
If you are unwell and are concerned, current advice for anyone who is showing signs of shortness of breath, coughing or fever is to call NHS 111.
The risk is still relatively low for individuals but we wanted to share this information with you so that we can all remain vigilant.
If you are concerned and need to speak to the school about this issue, please contact us in the usual way.
With kind regards
Mrs E Duffell
