Whole School Safeguarding Policy

St Peter’s Cross Keys Academy Commitment and Policy

 

This policy applies to all staff, governors and volunteers working in the academy and takes into account statutory guidance provided by the Department for Education and local guidance issued by the Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Partnership.       

   

We will ensure that all parents/carers are made aware of their responsibilities with regard to child protection procedures and how we will safeguard and promote the welfare of their children through the publication of this academy safeguarding and child protection policy.     

   

These duties and responsibilities as set out within the Education Act 2002 sec 175 and 157, DfE Statutory Guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education 2021 and HM Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018(amended 12/2020) which are incorporated into this policy.     

 

The policy is read in conjunction with:

   

 “Working Together to Safeguard Children” (July 2018, amended 12/2020) which is statutory guidance to be read and followed by all those providing services for children and families, including those in education. 

  

“Keeping Children Safe in Education” (September 2022), which is the statutory guidance for Schools and Colleges.
