Here at St Peter’s Cross Key Academy, we want to give all children the best possible opportunities and experiences. We are very excited to share with you, that Foundation will be taking part in ‘Muddy Thursday’ into our provision.

‘Muddy Thursday’ is an inspirational learning process that is centered around the child. It offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions, supporting play, exploration and supported risk taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through hands-on experiences in a natural setting.

‘Muddy Thursday’ will further enhance our curriculum. Activities will include storytelling, natural art activities, exploring, nature watching, bug hunting, and     building dens, creating sculptures and taking time to reflect. During these activities children will be introduced to new vocabulary and encouraged to use their speaking and listening skills.

As Muddy Thursday will be taking place outdoors your child will need;

à Old clothes that you don’t mind getting muddy and wet – Children are to come to school dressed in these old clothes (no uniform needed)

à Warm layers (that you don’t mind getting muddy)

à Wellies in a named bag.

à Full waterproofs (named)
