Congratulations to our Girls Football Team who represented the school at the Girls Autumn Tournament this week and were runners up of the whole event.
Led by captain Grace who was all over the pitch, Ava and Isla at the back, who let nothing past them and super goalie Alex, we won 4 games and drew one in the group stage to finish top of our group.
We won our semi final and for the first time ever, reached the final in this competition. We played Lowes Wong, who’s team is made up of girls who play regularly, and lost by a single goal late on in the game.
The girls never stopped running – Niamh C, Niamh O, Liana, Ripley and Phoenix all worked extremely hard in closing down the other teams’ players. Thank you to Mr Rhodes-Yeomans for all your support and training and being with us on the day. For a small school with only 17 children in Year 6, playing schools with 60 children or more in a year group, we have achieved something which can only be described as fantastic!
A big well done to our school football team who competed last weekend in the autumn football tournament at Flowserve.
Highlights included - great team play and support for each other, along with determination and a win over the tournaments eventual winners, Lowes Wong. Abraham was his usual brilliant self in goal, Bret, Sam and Grace just ran and ran and Billy, Nathan, Ashton, Charlie and Jacob worked hard defending and holding the midfield. Thank you to coach Mr Rhodes-Yeomans for being there on the day and training the team.
Well played!
Thank you to all parents, carers and children for donating food items as part of our annual Harvest Festival celebrations.
