Congratulations to our children who graduated during the inaugural Newark Youth College Graduation this week.

Tuesday 20^th October at Newark Town Hall

The Newark Youth College is a Newark Family of Schools initiative, offered in partnership with Newark College and Together for Newark.

Participants receive credits for attending after school clubs or external clubs that have been approved by Newark Youth College.

The scheme was developed to raise aspirations of the young people in our community, by reinforcing the link with further education. Other aims of Newark Youth College are for the young people to:

• Learn new skills
• Try new activities
• Meet new people
• Improve confidence

We were delighted to have 57 graduates in attendance from across the Newark Family of Schools, both primary and secondary.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Newark attending the event, together with local head teachers of participating schools.

The event was hosted by Phil Grindley and Vicky Cozens from Radio Newark. It was a great evening that celebrated the achievements of the young people and they loved every minute of it, especially the hat throw at the end!!

We had performances from the Healthy Minds Drama Group from The Newark Academy & Magnus, Chuter Ede Choir and the Holy Trinity Irish Dance Group.
